The report found that department conference planners allowed up to $762,000 in unauthorized or wasteful spending and accepted gifts including spa treatments and entertainment. The House committee will specifically examine the lack of answers and information received from the Department of Veterans Affairs concerning conference spending over the past four years, according to a statement.
